Involvement

The Ryerson Computer Science Course Union (CSCU) is a student-run course union that advocates on behalf of undergrad CS students. The Ryerson CSCU handles events ranging from internship panels to social events.

I currently hold the title of VP Finance in the CSCU. My duties include creating a budget and keeping a timely report of all financial information. This course union helps me go beyond schoolwork and get involved in my program.

Due to recent COVID-19 restrictions, with the university shifting to online learning, the CSCU started hosting podcasts and virtual game nights to keep students connected. I'm very grateful to be a part of a union that strives to help students both academically and socially.

In my second year I was a part of the Ryerson Student Union (RSU) student group committee. I helped student groups at Ryerson obtain funding for their events and organized events to help students join these groups. Being a committee member, I was able to be the students' voice and suggest changes to make their university experience better.

I have also been a part of the Ryerson Indian Students Association (RISA) as their lead graphic designer since my first year. For context, I was born and raised in India, before my family moved to Canada in 2009. Through this association, I was able to meet individuals that share my love for India and its culture.

Additionally, I have also designed graphics for the Ryerson Science Society (RSS).
